NurseDash posts regular “On-Call” shifts. These shifts are designed to provide additional shift coverage for any of our facility customers (as opposed to one specific facility).
If you book one of these shifts you are committing to be available to work a shift at any of the facilities (usually limited by geographic region e.g. North Houston or Cleveland East Side) who has a last minute need. The geographic region will be specified in the shift description.
Prior to confirming for the On-Call shift, you must know that you will be available for the entire shift time (e.g. 6-2 or 2-10) and have reliable transportation to make it to a shift on short notice. You will be notified if you are needed to go in for a shift sometime during the On-Call period, which starts 1 hour before the shift start time and ends 2 hours after the shift starts. This means that you could be called to go in during that time and need to be able to promptly arrive and work the entire remainder of the shift.
For example, if you confirm an On-Call shift listed as 5-8, this means that you could receive a call from NurseDash anytime between 5-8 letting you know you are needed to cover a 6-2 shift at one of the partners. You will be expected to arrive at that shift promptly and work the duration.
If you are called in for an On-Call shift, you will earn the On-Call Coverage Bonus (amount specified in the shift posting) in addition to the regular shift rate in your next paycheck.
If you are not called in for an On-Call shift, you will earn the On-Call Coverage Bonus (amount specified in the shift posting) in your next paycheck.
